Delhi Gramophone Records sells original Indian vinyl from New Delhi — Hindi film soundtracks, ghazal, Indian classical, bhajan, and the rock and jazz that came through Indian pressing plants.
Everything here is second-hand, and every record is a single copy. We do not list a title with a stock number against it, because two copies of the same album are never in the same condition. Each one is graded by hand and photographed as it actually is — marks, ring wear, split seams and all. What you see is what arrives.
We would rather describe a record honestly and sell it once than have it sent back. If one reaches you worse than we said, we refund it in full.
Questions people ask
Are these original records or reissues?
They are original pressings, almost all made in India. Each record is second-hand and sold as a single copy — the exact record in the photographs is the one that will arrive.
How do you grade records?
By hand, on the Goldmine scale, with two grades per record: one for the disc and one for the sleeve, written as VG+ / VG. We also show the percentage scale used widely in India. Every record is photographed as it actually is, so you can see the condition yourself.
Do you ship outside India?
Yes, worldwide. Postage is a flat rate decided at checkout from the delivery country, and it is frozen onto your order. Import duty in the destination country is payable by the buyer.
What if the record is not as described?
We refund it in full, including postage, if it arrives damaged, materially worse than its grade, wrong, or never arrives. Tell us within 7 days of delivery.
Can I sell my records to you?
Yes. We buy collections of Indian vinyl. Tell us roughly what you have on the "Sell to us" page and we will come back to you.
Why is there only one of each record?
Because every record is second-hand. Two copies of the same album are different records in different condition at different prices, so each is listed separately. When one sells, it is gone.
